LSU vs Middle Tennessee in Women's 2024 NCAA Tournament: Live updates from March Madness

BATON ROUGE – LSU women's basketball looks to get back to the Sweet 16.

First, the No. 3 seed Tigers (29-5) will have to get through No. 11 seed Middle Tennessee (30-4) Sunday afternoon in the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The game is scheduled to tip at 2 p.m. CT and air on ABC.

Kim Mulkey and LSU outlasted No. 14 Rice, 70-60, in the opening round of March Madness Friday.

MTSU upset No. 6 Louisville, 71-69, marking the second straight season the Blue Raiders has beaten the Cardinals.

Aneesah Morrow led the way for the Tigers in their first-round matchup, scoring 15 points while star Angel Reese compiled 10 points and 19 rebounds for her 13th straight double-double.

Point guard Savannah Wheeler led the rally for Middle Tennessee over Louisville, who led MTSU by as many as 18 points in the first half. Wheeler scored 20 points and hit three 3's in the second half to propel the Blue Raiders.

The winner of Sunday's game advances to the Sweet 16, which will be held in Albany, New York next weekend. The winner of No. 2 UCLA and No. 7 Creighton in the next round of the NCAA Tournament.
